On January 18, 2026, the "Explore the Golden Triangle: Year-Round Benefits and Win-Win Cooperation" tourism promotion conference and inspection tour, hosted by the Tourism and Culture Department of the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone in Laos, successfully concluded. Representatives from the governments of Laos, Thailand, and China, tourism distributors, chamber of commerce delegations, and representatives from surrounding villages and towns gathered to appreciate the achievements of the special economic zone's transformation and its cultural and tourism charm.

During the two-day trip, the delegation visited cultural landmarks such as Cotton Island and Wat Thongti, experiencing Laos's rich historical heritage; they also surveyed commercial projects such as the Golden Dragon Mountain Golf Resort and the Starlight Night Market, directly experiencing the vibrant commercial life of the special economic zone's diverse cultural integration.
At the promotion conference, Khamsawwang, Director of the Special Economic Zone's Administrative Authority, stated that the special economic zone will uphold the principles of openness, cooperation, and win-win outcomes, continuously improving tourism infrastructure in 2026, creating a safe and convenient tourism environment, and striving to become an international tourism destination for Laos.

Susawadee, Governor of Chiang Saen District, Thailand, highly praised the achievements of the special economic zone's development, stating that the comprehensive infrastructure and stable security he witnessed on-site were completely different from the negative rumors circulating online. He eagerly anticipates deepening tourism cooperation between Chiang Saen County and the Special Economic Zone to achieve a win-win situation.

Sun Jie, President of the Golden Triangle Group, pointed out that the Special Economic Zone adheres to the strategy of "developing the zone through tourism." The Group will leverage its resources and advantages in communication with the government and enterprises to build a shared cultural and tourism platform, providing reliable support for its partners.

This event has built a communication bridge for cultural and tourism cooperation among the three parties, clarifying the direction of cooperation in resource complementarity and mutual tourist exchange. It not only demonstrates the progress of the Special Economic Zone's transformation into a modern tourist city but also injects new impetus into the coordinated development of the Lao-Thailand-China border tourism market.
