On December 9, 2025, the Nanyang International Club, together with the Lao-Singapore Promotion Association, visited the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone. During the visit, they received a warm welcome and strong support and assistance from the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone Management Committee.
Everyone said that the Golden Triangle, once a mysterious and terrifying place, didn't feel any sense of insecurity here; world peace and reunification were inevitable. Every blade of grass and tree here exudes the fragrance of China, and the management team here possesses the excellent qualities of China's development zones.
First, the Nanyang International Club visited the Mekong River port area of the four countries. They also extended their regards to the border guards stationed in the Golden Triangle region, thanking them for their dedication to guarding the border and contributing to world peace.
Following the visit, an investment negotiation symposium was held. Participants freely expressed their opinions and raised questions about the four major areas of the special economic zone in a lively atmosphere. After thorough discussion, both parties reached a preliminary memorandum of understanding.
During the visit, they also paid homage to the Buddha statue in Laos, sampled local delicacies and wines, and experienced the unique "high mountain and flowing water" scenery of Laos and Yunnan. The Golden Triangle was a very rewarding experience, and everyone expressed their intention to return, especially when the golden kapok trees are in full bloom.
