The 2017 charity donation event for the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone in Laos was launched in Dongpeng District, Bokeo Province.

On August 1, 2017, a charity donation event themed "Caring for Bokor, Common Development" was held in the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone of Laos—a donation drive for students and residents of Nam Fa Village, Dong Phrom District, Bokeo Province. Led by key leaders including Zhao Zhiqiang, Vice Chairman of Investment Promotion of the Special Economic Zone, and Liu Xiaocheng, Deputy Director of the Tourism Development Bureau, a donation team of over 30 people, including heads and staff from various units within the zone and philanthropists, traveled for three hours through mountainous terrain to reach Nam Fa Village, accompanied by leaders from the Dong Phrom District government. They successfully delivered clothing, food, school supplies, and other donated goods collected by the Special Economic Zone to the villagers. The donated goods were valued at approximately 78.3 million Lao Kip, providing tangible care and warmth to the local people.

This charitable act received high attention from the Dong Phrom District government and enthusiastic support from residents across the Special Economic Zone. The village head of Nam Fa Village, on behalf of all villagers, and representatives of teachers and students from the school, as students, expressed their sincere gratitude for the Special Economic Zone's visit and donation. After the donation ceremony, the children offered their blessings with cheerful traditional Lao songs. Their simple voices conveyed gratitude to the guests from afar, creating a warm and touching atmosphere.

The most touching detail of the event was undoubtedly the enthusiastic assistance from the local villagers. To facilitate the donation team's travel, the villagers specially organized the few tractors they had to transport everyone across the river – from their careful escort upon arrival to their safe farewell after the event, every gesture was imbued with the deep friendship between the villagers and the Special Economic Zone, becoming the warmest footnote to this charitable journey.

This charitable donation activity not only vividly practiced and carried forward the core spirit of "gratitude, dedication, unity, and mutual assistance" of the Special Economic Zone, but also profoundly interpreted the lifelong wish of Chairman Zhao Wei of the Special Economic Zone: "The Lao people have lent us a piece of sky; we must return a city to the Lao people." This initial aspiration and sense of responsibility have also won widespread recognition and high praise from the local people.

"Caring for Bokeo, developing together" is not just a slogan, but a responsibility and obligation that the Special Economic Zone has always upheld. Looking to the future, the Special Administrative Region will continue to deepen its charitable endeavors, further normalize poverty alleviation and assistance activities, and contribute to improving the lives of people in surrounding areas. At the same time, it sincerely calls on more caring people to join in, work together to gather the warmth of public welfare, and build a concentric circle for regional development.
