
On November 15, 2025, a delegation led by Rohit Babar, Chargé d'Affaires of the Indian Embassy in Laos, paid a friendly working visit to the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone (hereinafter referred to as the "Special Zone") in Bokeo Province, Laos. The delegation was warmly received by Sayapong Donmani, Deputy Director of the Special Zone's Public Security Bureau, and the Director of the Special Zone's Women's Federation.

The main purpose of the delegation's visit to Bokeo Province was to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for a vocational training center project for women and children affected by violence, and to strengthen cooperation with the Bokeo Provincial Women's Federation in areas such as diplomatic solidarity, tourism, and socio-economic development, jointly promoting the steady progress of related undertakings.

During the visit, the delegation visited the Golden Triangle International Border Crossing, located at the border of Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar, and Bokeo International Airport, and also visited the Golden Pagoda. Rohit Babar expressed his appreciation for the progress made by the Special Zone in infrastructure construction. The two sides held cordial exchanges on issues such as foreign worker management, border operations, air connectivity, and future cooperation.
